I'm trying to make reports in MoneyDance. I'm trying to figure out how to do a Transaction Report that subtotals by category. I'm looking for a simple users manual. When I click on help, it seems I need to bother you. Kind helper, please let me know where I might find a users guide so I can learn basic operation of reports.
My exact question is I figured out how to make an Income Statement for my rental house. I'd like to be able to see all the transactions that make up my summarized expense categories. When I click on a summarized category (e.g. Repairs) it brings me to a very long transaction list that seems to hold all transactions going back years! There must be a way to see the 5-10 transactions that are summarized into the "Repairs" line on my income statement.

From what you describe it sounds like the Income and Expense (Detailed) Report may suit your needs. You can set the parameters to suit then generate the report.
