Thank you for contacting Moneydance support.

Can you check you're running the latest version of the Quotes and Exchange Rates extension? To do this, choose Extensions --> Manage Extensions. The latest version of the extension is v.1024. You should see an 'Update' button if you're using an older version, or remove the extension and re-install.

I hope this information is helpful. Please let me know if you have further questions or need any assistance.

To update currency rates, you can use AlphaVantage or European Central Bank.

I see support, Maddy has already posted, but the following may add some more information.

You need to add exchange rates manually or automatically as follows.

Manually
Click TOOLS -CURRENCIES double click on a currency, in your case Euro. A currency/Security history window will open. You can add the current exchange rate plus dated exchange rates to build a history. The values entered should be expressed in terms of Euro’s to the Pound. If you click on the IMPORT button you will see you can IMPORT FROM FILE, that is a CSV file in the format outlined in the window. A number of sources on the web provide historical exchange rate data. E.G. https://www.macrotrends.net/2553/euro-british-pound-exchange-rate-h...
You need to open the downloaded CSV in notepad and delete all the text above the line

date, value

Save the CSV file. Now click IMPORT in the IMPORT PRICE HISTORY window. When the import is complete close and reopen the window to see the results. NOTE: you don’t need to edit value to close, Moneydance works it out.

Automatic exchange rate update.

You can install the Extension QUOTE AND EXCHANGE RATE updater from under EXTENSIONS. Set the CURRENCY EXCHANGE RATE dropdown to EUROPEAN CENTRAL BANK and update. The current and current dated exchange rate will be added to the Euro currency/Security history window under TOOLS – CURRENCIES. Historical data is not included.

Hope this helps.

derekkent23tag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/478403142019-11-15T11:01:17Z2019-11-15T11:01:17ZSetting exchange rates?

Hi Steve,
