Thank you for contacting Moneydance support.

Which version and build of Moneydance are you using?
To check, open Moneydance and select Help --> About Moneydance (or Moneydance --> About Moneydance on a Mac) where the version and build number will be displayed.

If you'll be keeping the older computer, you can sync your data file so it's accessible from both systems. Any changes made on either computer will be synced with the other. Let me know if you want to try this and I'll provide the steps you need.

If you want to just use the new system, on the older computer, open Moneydance and choose Help --> Show Documents Folder.

A window will open displaying your .moneydance data file (on a Windows computer, the file will appear as a regular folder, without the orange Moneydance icon). You should take a copy of this file, and move it to the new computer by using an USB drive, for instance.

On the new computer, move the .moneydance file to the location you want it to be stored. Then double click the .moneydance file to access your data. Alternatively, open Moneydance and choose File --> Open --> Open Other (or 'Open Other' from the Welcome window).

If you prefer, you can use backup files to transfer your data. Open Moneydance and choose File --> Export Backup. This will create a .moneydancearchiv backup file that you can move to the new computer using a USB, shared folder or whichever method you prefer.

On the new computer, double click the backup file to restore your data. Alternatively, open Moneydance and choose File --> Restore from Backup (or 'Import New Account Set' from the Welcome window).

When you restore your data in this way, a new data file is created in the default location for use going forward. The default location is accessible from Moneydance via Help --> Show Documents Folder
. When you're happy with the data that's populated into Moneydance, you can remove the backup file you transferred from the older computer.

I hope this information is helpful. Please let me know if you have further questions or need any assistance.

Version: 2019.3 (1880)

My eyes are getting weak and I increased the font size but that runs the
date of transactions to large to fit the box. How can I fix this?

Moneydance no longer uses Wifi syncing, since unfortunately, there were some issues with Wifi syncing that we could not fix , due to certain network configurations over which we have no control.
However, Dropbox syncing is more stable, robust, end-to-end encrypted, meaning that all your data is encrypted between your Moneydance application and your Moneydance mobile app, with none of it being unencrypted on your Dropbox folder.

For these reasons, we've stopped maintaining the Wifi syncing functionality and are unable to fix most problems with it.

Within Moneydance by navigating to File->Preferences->General, then at the bottom of the window you can adjust your "Font Size" as required.
I would also suggest you might want to adjust the column size by pointing your mouse arrow/cursor on the headers bar (e.g.Date, Check, Description etc.) and drag the columns sideways.

Also, you could consider customizing Moneydance by using different colours. To achieve this go to File->Preferences->Customize, scroll down and select E.g.: positiveBalFG and set it to black, then select negativeBalFG and set it to red, to highlight or via General-->Theme-->Dark Mode or High Contrast.

Please keep us posted on your progress, Thank you!
