directly. Although you do need to initiate the connection (and
re-enter your password).

Brian Adlertag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/1418602009-05-31T01:13:36Z2009-05-31T01:13:41Zautomatic syncro of stocks, bonds , balances from external accounts

That doesn't imply automatically, if I have to reenter this

is the "Password Vault" that Quicken uses. I just have to hit one

(in the menus, go to File > Encryption in the Mac version),
Moneydance can store your online account passwords so you never
have to enter them again.

What Moneydance does not have yet is a one-step update, where
you can download transactions for all your accounts with one click
of a button. For now, you have to go into each account and download
the transactions separately. I understand that one-step update is
being added in the next version due to be released some time this
year.

John Seldentag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/1418602009-06-01T17:37:38Z2009-06-01T17:37:38Zautomatic syncro of stocks, bonds , balances from external accounts

Yes John that is correct, one step updates will be implemented
in the upcoming Moneydance 2009 (we promise it won't wind up being
MD 2010).

Brian Adlertag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/1418602009-06-11T19:57:07Z2009-06-11T19:57:10Zautomatic syncro of stocks, bonds , balances from external accounts

Expanding somewhat on this question, one of the things I'm
currently doing in Quicken is to schedule an automatic, background
connection to brokerages every weekday evening after US markets
close, to download both account transactions and closing prices.
Will such a feature (i.e., scheduled background connections to
download data) be available in the new version of Moneydance?

Lentag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/1418602009-06-23T03:55:31Z2009-06-23T03:55:31Zautomatic syncro of stocks, bonds , balances from external accounts

Len,

Do you mean whether Moneydance is open or not or only if it is
running? Currently, you already can regularly/automatically update
equity prices by using the available extensions. I believe you will
be able to have your transactions update on a regular basis
automatically, yes.

Brian Adler
