How do I record in my register a stock split? I have a security with one (I think it is 4 for 1), and the transaction from my account statement simply shows the added and new # of shares from the split. There is no "Action" for stock split.

And, what is the "Action" to be used for a "cash in lieu" cash entry for the fractional shares paid out during the stock split?

A stock split is not a transaction as such and is therefore not handled as an Action.

In the investment account go to the securities details tab, click on the Stock Split button and you can enter the split details.

There are a couple of ways of handling the fraction shares.

    1. You could enter a sell of the fractional number to yield the cash, transferring it to a bank account.

    2. You could enter the stock split to give the correct whole number of shares and enter a sell transaction of 0 shares with the cash amount to fix the cost base.
