Hi Richard,
Moneydance supports automatic downloads via Direct Connect, and you can view a list of banks that support this feature here. You'll see 'Scottrade' on the list, I believe this is the connection you need to use (rather than 'Scottrade Bank').
You can set this up within Moneydance, by going to Online --> Set Up Online Banking. Then select 'New Connection' and choose your financial institution from the list.
If you haven't already, you may need to contact your financial institution, to enable your accounts for Direct Connect access. Application-based online banking often requires a different login/PIN than the ones that are used for ATM or web-based banking. When you enable your account for access from Moneydance or Quicken, your financial institution should let you know what customer ID/login and PIN to use.
Please let me know if you continue to encounter issues when getting connected.
