Hi,

I've just begun using the software. I have now successfully got my checking and savings accounts setup, downloaded, reconciled, etc. I am now trying to set up an IRA account from TD Ameritrade. No problems creating and setting it up, connecting online ok, but when I download the balances into the IRA investment account in the software for some reason it credits the investment account and debits my checking account automatically throwing off the checking balance by thousands. I've tried deleting the record in the checking account but it also automatically deletes the credit from the IRA account. Not sure how to get this working right.

When you first download MD does not know how to classify your transactions. On the first download, MD may mis-classify transactions. Part of reconciling is to teach MD where transactions should go. On subsequent downloads MD should remember and classify similar transaction correctly.

To better advise you you it would be helpful to see these transactions. Could you please send a screen shot of the transactions from the investment register.

You may have to reset the sync for the IRA account for them to download again. You can do this by going to online > set up online banking and selecting reset sync. Then when you do a download into your IRA these transactions will download again.
