Hi gdelf,
Does the ticker in question show the proper price quote on yahoo finance?

Hi gdelf,
Is the particular line item for the ticker in question check-marked in the Quotes and Exchange Rates Updater Extension?

Yes they all show as updated every day, but I just noticed the ticker symbols are a bit different for some on Yahoo. Maybe they changed June 13th??
I’ll check them all….
Thanks

Hi Kevin
That wasn’t the problem. All the quotes show as updated, but when i noise over them it shows as of Jun3 13 or 14, 2016. I thought maybe it was the difference in Cdn and US dollars but it’s nor.
Still need help??
Thanks

Hi gdelf,
Thank you for the screenshot.
I visited yahoo finance for the ticker ZEQ. They show the last closing quote for ZEQ as Jun 14 @ 16.53. This is likely why you're not getting any further updates through the Q&ER Updater. (see screenshot)
If you are interested in filling in the gap in the price quote from 6/14 to present, you'll need to download the data from yahoo finance and import it into the History table for ZEQ in Moneydance.
Click the 'Historical Data' link on the yahoo finance page for ZEQ. (see screenshot)
You should see a download data link in the upper right-hand corner of the table that appears.
Clicking the 'Download Data' link will save a CSV file that can be imported into the 'History' table for ZEQ.
If you need help importing the CSV file, let me know and I'll try to help you with that.

So does that mean they won’t update on a daily basis anymore?

Hi gdelf,
It's hard to say, Yahoo was recently sold to Verizon. If Verizon decides to continue to maintain these servers or pull the plug on them altogether is anybody's guess.
If you would like to manually update ZEQ, look to the Security Price Entry extension. It should make the ordeal a little easier.

Yeah thanks I have done that but I have 27 of them to update so not much fun manually and 1 at a time. Will you guys be switching to a new source then?

Hi gdelf,
I'm a Moneydance user. I'm not affiliated with Moneydance or The Infinite Kind so I can't speak to as to when or if there will be a change in quote venue.
I'm sorry that I don't have better news.
I can't imagine having to manually update 27 price quotes every day.

Yahoo is used because it has provided free access to downloadable price files. Unfortunately over the years they have not been maintaining this service.
The Moneydance staff continues to be on the look out for a replacement service, but as of yet have not found anything comparable. I am sorry for the inconvenience.

I came on here to find out why when my stocks had all been updating they suddenly stopped. I moved here from Quicken 2004 becasue you had updating security prices. It has taken me months to get them right (pence, pounds, hundreds) and get teh updated ticker symbols, now it doesn't work in Moneydance either. That is astoundingly frustrating.
What I do no tunderstand is that - for example - for my first security GB0031041816 it is shown in Yahoo finance with a current price but even that does not get downloaded. The history stops at July 19th, but Moneydance add-in will not load that - even though it had previously downloaded it albeit multiplied by 0.01.
Every single one of my securities shows today in the TEST section with an X against the current price. Is that (hopefully) just becasue it is Sunday?

On The yahoo page for each security, there is a downloadable file in the toolbox, which is on the lower right hand of the page. if you open this file in a spreadsheet app you will be able to see what downloads and if the security will be supported by the extension.
