How do I set up an account showing number of shares and current value that can be updated as required?

Hi Phil,
You can d/l the Moneydance user guide from here:
http://help.infinitekind.com/kb/user-guides
It explains the 3 steps of adding a security to Moneydance, designating that security to a particular investment account and finally entering transactions into the register so as to reflect your holdings.
Once your holdings have been recorded, they will appear as line items in the Quotes & Exchange Rates updater extension which will update the price quotes. (provided that the specific ticker symbols are available from finance.yahoo.com)
