SHARE PRICE DOWNLOADS INCORRECTLY
I set up a new security (Stride Stapled Group) on July 12, with an opening buy price of $1.98.
Over the past 6 weeks, the security has traded every day at prices in the $2.00 to $2.05 range. However, the Quotes & Exchange Rates Extension download the current price as $2.00 every day. I note that trading volume is downloading ok.. Also, I note that the Quotes & Exchange Rate Extension shows the History download as an error with a red cross. I think the error code was 404.
In the attached screen shot, I removed the 6 weeks history, in an attempt to solve the issue. This history previously showed the price of $2.00 downloaded every day over the 6 weeks period.
I tried deleting the security and then setting it up again, but without any success.
I should also say that on the same date, July 12, I set up a second security whose prices and volumes are downloading correctly. Although this second security also shows the same History red cross error in the Quotes & Exchange Rate Extension.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It looks like that Yahoo does not maintain history for this stock (SPG.NZ) so downloading historical prices from Yahoo will fail

Thanks dwg.
This stock (SPG.NZ) and the other one I mentioned (IPL.NZ) are both new stocks on the market last month, and I guess you are right, history is a problem for Yahoo.
However, Yahoo downloads both current price and volume ok for IPL.
But for SPG, Yahoo downloads volume ok, but downloads current price as $2.00 every day, when the price currently trades between $2.00 and $2.05, and today is $2.02.
So, something appears wrong and Yahoo can only seem to download a price of $2.00 for SPG.
Cheers

On MD2012 I have seen funny things happen when the current price was available but historical prices not, as a step in troubleshooting try turning historical prices downloading off and see if brings down the correct latest price.

Thanks for idea dwg. However, with History set to Do Not Update, Yahoo still downloads a price of $2.00, and I see the current quoted price on the NZ stock exchange is now $2.04

I manually downloaded the quote from Yahoo, inside the file it is showing a price of "2":
"SPG.NZ",2,"8/26/2016","10:30am",+0,2,2,2,8746
So this looks like a yahoo fault, not much that the Moneydance folks can do about this. If Yahoo provides crap you get crap ....

Thanks dwg. I did a manual download from Yahoo and got the same information as you. So, I have reported this an an issue with Yahoo, but am not hopeful of a response.
So, unless the MD folk have a suggestion, it looks like I will have to manual update the price.

The extension is dependent on the data provided by Yahoo. It was originally designed by a third party for use with MD then we took it over. Yahoo was used because Yahoo provided a free downloadable file so there would be no fee's associated with its use.
