Some additional information might be helpful
Version of Moneydance being used including build
are you using direct connect or manually downloading investment files and importing them
What institution are you downloading from
What, if any error messages are you receiving
Support may well want to see a copy of the Moneydance error log after attempting to download investments to see if it provides any indication of the problem.
