SOME Investment prices / quotes are not updating - even though they are in Yahoo

I've been struggling on with this and realised it isn't me.

Several of my security prices are not updating. I have the correct ticker symbols, and I can see them when I go to Yahoo finance UK. But Moneydance is showing them as no current price and no history. My version 2017 build 1584.

The attached screenshots clearly show that Moneydance USED TO download this particular stock, but stopped in February. You can also see that Yahoo finance does show this stock, and also shows the others that have errors for current and historic prices. I've also attached the screenshot that shows the weekly download setup, and that it was last updated on 12 April.

The other thing that I would really love to see in Moneydance is a summary page for all of the securities, that shows the holding, current price and value, and date last updated for each individual security. The only way I can find to check whether a stock is updating is to go to the account holding it, and select the Securities detail tab, and check each individual one. Stock prices on the summary page don't show date last updated.

    Hi JimRB,

For ticker GB0032473653, Yahoo Finance stopped providing historical data for that security on February 22, 2017.

It is my understanding that the Quotes and Exchange Rates Updater extension downloads the CSV file of historical prices provided by Yahoo Finance so as to update price quotes in Moneydance.

Again, It is my understanding that without that CSV file of historical data, the Quotes and Exchange Rates Updater extension can not update the price quote in Moneydance.

    Thanks Kevin

I can understand how that would prevent Mondeydance from downloading the historical (ie daily) prices, but surely it should be downloading the CURRENT quote, so I should have had that weekly since February 22nd as the script ran and updated other stocks?
The TEST from within Moneydance checks for Current Price and for Historical Price, but doesn't seem to find either even though there is a current price as at 13 April (ie the latest business day).
In fact, as I look at the latest Test results, NONE of the current prices are found. I'm sure when I switched to Moneydance last year there were current prices too.

I can download a csv of all current prices from Yahoo. Is there a way of importing that into Moneydance?

I have looked again at the summary page and the Stock Prices section. It really is useless. It includes every stock that has ever been recorded in Moneydance, including the ones I imported from Quicken. As such, it has many that have been taken over or where stock changes have taken place, or holdings switched. The values shown as prices are the latest price that happens to have been recorded for that stock - some of them have a latest price date back in 2003!

    Hi Jim,

I was able to d/l current and historical prices for GB0032473653 using Yahoo USA in the Q&ER updater.

The only way that you can import prices via CSV is to do so one security at a time.

    Hi JIm,

I may have been a little hasty, the price quotes stop at 2/17/2017. :(

The Quotes and exchange extension was designed to go to the Yahoo Finance pages and retrieve a free downloadable file and import that into Moneydance. Unfortunately over the last few years, Yahoo support for their Finance pages has being spotty, especially for non-US mutual finds.

It sound counter intuitive, but setting the extension to Yahoo USA and designating the London Exchange tends provide the most accurate data.

    Hi Tom

Thank you. It is definitely counter intuitive. I have after some trial and error set the current prices to Yahoo USA, and the price history to Google Finance because neither of the Yahoo options were giving me any price history.
It has also meant that my net worth momentarily leapt up by several orders of magnitude. Then I came back down to earth, and changed the funds that had to be in pence on the UK site to GBP on the USA site, and after a few updates and checks, all is now well. Just one, Pictet, that doesn't download, and in any event has an old price on Yahoo even though it claims it is current. I can get it from Morningstar or Fidelity

So, thanks to your help I now only have one to update manually. :)
