It does not
affect cost basis or other investment metrics.

While you may need a placeholder in the data record, I believe
in the register the user interacts with Moneydance should show
nothing, i.e., there should be nothing showing in the cost field.
Even a greyed out value is misleading.

out. If I look back through the history then it is misleading.
You're taking a very personal view on what you think the customers
should have.

0 should show 0 should show 0 should show 0

income.

Why are you purchasing shares at $0? What is behind this
transaction, in other words how are you getting shares without
payment? This affects the cost basis and hence can impact capital
gains.

dwgtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/371183222015-06-22T02:11:40Z2015-06-22T02:11:40Zdividend entries - price paid showing $1000

This is my way of dealing with my profits. I’m not a
professional investor and Moneydance is not a professional tracker
otherwise it wouldn’t have been released with so many
bugs.

I not getting into what’s right and wrong about my
philosophy. I swapped back to 2014 some time ago because of all the
problems. I recently retried 2015 but still didn’t like the
issues that I see as different from 2014. Which version has it
wrong – 2014 or 2015.

Moneydance thinks
the return is -79.42%, it is clearly not.
useless.

A report 'Investment Performance' is just crazy as so many the

is the ratio between your cost basis and the current value.

investment metrics in our reports. If you could send a screen shot
of an investment report showing these values and let us know which
version of MD you are using.
