Latest update giving crazy current price data
I've just updated to 2017.4 and I'm getting some weird results in my investment entries. I'm not entering a 'Current Price' but somehow the current price is updating giving me investment valuations I can't reconcile.

Is it possible this has something to do with entering a dividend transaction? I can't work out how this is happening because I can't workout any numbers that could be calculated from the dividend value but the change to the Current Price appears to change when a dividend entry is made.

The only type of Dividend that should have an impact on price is a Dividend Reinvestment transaction. An ordinary Dividend transaction should not have any price information associated with it, Moneydance is known for showing data in some fields in a light grey text but this is placeholder info only and have no effect.

Can you please attach a screen shot of your register highlighting some of the dividend transactions and a screen shot of your securities detail window for one of the security with this issue.

I am experiencing what appears to be the same problem. After typing in the dividend information in the Investment Account register the share prices for the stocks are modified. Am attaching screen prints of the transaction register and the stock prices.

There is a fix regarding historic prices in build 1635:
fix bug that auto-set an incorrect historic rate or stock price when manually entering a dividend transaction
Perhaps it is related to what you are experiencing

I've just manually updated my prices and the portfolio value was correct. I then entered some dividend transactions and the problem occurred again so it is defiantly isn't a one off. I don't recall having this problem until the last three months or so.

Please confirm that you are using build 1635. Help > about Moneydance.
I am unable to replicate the issue.
@LR Neden Are you using multiple currencies, What is the base currency of your data file and the base currency of the investment account? I've tried to replicate on a file using multiple currency when the investment account and security is of a different currency and still can not replicate. Can you please attach a screen shot of the securities detail window for one of these securities.
@ Terry Where the dividend transactions manually entered or downloaded. Can you too attach a screen shot of the security details window for one of the securities affected.

Hi Tom
As far as I can tell the problem is no longer present in build 1635. When I reported the problem I was using build 1624.
Regards,
Linda
