Question 1
The historic price download for stocks does not work for Canadian stock. Google give a message saying "Not Found" and Yahoo says
Received response code 401 and message 'Unauthorized'. The current price for the stock works fine and the symbol is recognized. When using the Google for historic prices for US stocks download fine. This isn't good.

Problem 2
Also, when i try to upload the historic prices for US stocks it seems that it changes the price for example if the file had a price at US 10.43
it will change it to 8.414814. It seems like it is thinking i am uploading a US stock on CAD but i am not. When i update using the Quotes and Exchange Rate extention the prices look right, but cant get history for more than 5 days. This is also not good

:(

I was able to correct problem 2 by changing the base currency from US to CAD and then import the US historic stock prices. Then switched back to CAD.

This needs fixing. You shouldn't have to do the above work around.

Yahoo has discontinued support for the API that was used to get historical quotes programmatically hence the error message.

Google is typically poor for quotes outside of the U.S.

    Thanks dwg

I still believe this needs to be resolved. Quicken is able to get historic prices for years in the past. both of the Question 1 (should have been labeled as problem 1) and Problem 2 needs to be resolved by infinitekind

Quicken hosts prices on their own systems from feeds that they pay for, hence the regular Quicken upgrade costs as they only provide price data for a certain period for each purchased version and also the yearly subscription model. Quicken also only provides data for limited countries, so has a smaller scope.

I'm having the same problem with AUD and GBP related stocks. It seems to me that the program converts the price using the currencies. I can't even import historic prices in non base currency stocks because the conversion takes place!

    Very frustrated
