Share price
Please can you tell me if the share price for my investment in Lloyds Banking Group updates automatically. If so how do I do it?
Regards David

Hi David,
Thank you for contacting us.
Unfortunately a Yahoo support representative has confirmed that Yahoo Finance API has been discontinued.
From the changes that have been made, it seems like Yahoo is trying to prevent people from automated downloading like Moneydance (and so many others) are doing.
We are looking for other options which has proven difficult. The advantage of the Yahoo was that it is free.
The current workaround is to navigate to Extensions and Select Quotes and Exchange Rates and change the Historical Security Prices to Google Finance. If certain prices are missing after that, you can download the quotes in a cvs file and import them by navigating to Tools > Securities > Edit then Import.
Fo your investment the direct link to the csv file is here:
https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/LYG/history?p=LYG
You can also update the current prices through the Security Price Entry extension in the Extensions menu.

To be clear, in the past the Yahoo extension brought all daily historical prices into MD from stocks & mutual funds that are publicly traded. For one that I own TIAA-CREF which is not publicly traded, I had to manually import historical prices from their site in a csv...a chore, but it was only one. So are you saying that now we can do the same thing automatically just by going to the google historical prices OR that we are going to have to bring in all (even publicly traded) funds individually via csv files?

@feffer777
Certain historical prices can be automatically downloaded by setting the extension to use Google Finance, but as not all are available on Google finance, the missing ones will need to be imported manually with the same process as you described.
