"TIAA Traditional Balance Update" Transaction
I recently purchase MoneyDance, mainly for the bank account/spend category tracking features. However, I realized that I can add my investment accounts despite 2FA on all of them, and did so.
Everything seems to work well except my TIAA Traditional in my 457b. For those not familiar, this is basically TIAA's "Guaranteed Income" account. There is no public ticker, and the easiest way to think of it is that share price is always $1, but share amount updates to credit "interest" even if no transactions are made.
Whenever I import a QFX from TIAA/TIAA-CREF or use Online Banking to download transactions, I get a "TIAA Traditional Balance Update" transaction as shown in the attachment. My guess is that TIAA is using this to show Quicken/Moneydance the updated # of shares of TIAA Traditional to account for the "interest." However, this transaction seems to be non-sense in terms of how Moneydance is reading it, and doesn't actually adjust the TIAA Traditional # shares. Anyone know how to fix this? I am happy to send the QFX file to someone at Moneydance support, but would not feel comfortable posting it on a public discussion.
Thank you so much!!!

In case it is helpful, apparently TIAA requires Quicken users to accept a "placeholder transaction" to see their correct TIAA Traditional balance:
https://www.tiaa.org/public/pdf/Quicken-FAQ-2017-TIAA-Traditional-Place.pdf
Also, I emailed the QFX file of interest to support at moneydance dot com . If there is any way to make this placeholder transaction work in Moneydance, I would very much appreciate it. Thank you again!

One more thought/question.
If such placeholder transactions are not supported, is there an appropriate Listener class that an extension could use to see the raw OFX data that comes from TIAA during an update? If so, I could probably hack something together to make the # of shares for TIAA Traditional correct. The total # is definitely in the QFX file that I mailed to support at moneydance dot com, so I'm guessing its probably also in the raw OFX data.
Thank you so much!
