If you want to manually enter share prices I would suggest installing the Security Price Entry extension - assess via the Manage Extensions menu option.
This extension is by far the best way to manually enter prices.
What do you mean import a manual portfolio price? Is it in some other program or in a specific format?

Why does the manual entry price extension default to 10/31/2017 as the most recent date when updates have been entered since that date?
