Setting up a CD
I've read what I could find about setting up a CD with MoneyDance but I'm a little lost.
I set up a new Investment account.
I set up a generic Security, type is CD share price set to $1, and APR set to my current APR, compounding set to monthly.
I did an initial BuyXfr with a custom category of Initial Holdings for (example) $2000.00 to buy 2000.00 "shares" of the CD. This was dated for the date the CD last renewed 8 months ago.
The security details page now shows that I have (example) $2000.00 of the "CD" but doesn't show the monthly compounded interest and the balance in the summary on the left sidebar says $0.00.
What have I done wrong?

The App does not automatically create a monthly interest transaction.
What you can do is set up a transaction reminder to record the monthly interest as a divreinv transaction. You would edit the transaction monthly to record the exact interest.

I understand how that will add the interest to the investment register but why would the summary in the sidebar be $0.00 ??
