How to add them

I just can't figure out how to add my investments to the program.

   Hi Janice,

   It's basically a 3-step process.
   Step 1, Add the security to Moneydance so that it can be shared across all investment accounts that may hold it. (do not create more than 1 instance of any given security)

   To do so, from the menu bar, go to Tools > Securities.
   In the resulting form, click the (+) sign to add a new security.
   Look to this Moneydance KB article for information on the individual fields to fill in.

   Step 2, is to add the security to the investment account(s) that may hold it. This step is also covered in the link provided.

   Step 3, is to enter the necessary transaction in the account's register. This KB article explains the different fields of the transaction.
