for buys and sells of shares without a price or an amount without a
number of shares, I know it can work to a degree but I have also
seen problems arise. What you are really looking for is add and
remove options.

That being said what is the reason for needing to perform the
adjustment, perhaps there is another approach you can take.

dwgtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/362582712015-03-11T21:19:44Z2015-03-11T21:19:44Zshare adjustments

Hello. I have a number of reverse splits, mergers, and
convertible
rights of new/reorganized shares that require I change share
amounts
without changing values. The issue I'm having with the software is
that
it re-selects the security to the first one in my securities list
when I
press enter and then I have to undo that, which is annoying but I
don't
have to do it a lot.

An added thoughts: It would be nice to add to the Action list to
include
Interest, purchase/sale of rights, and exercise of rights,
share
adjustment add/remove, cash-in-lieu, and spin-off.

Thanks, Oscar Williams

osc.williamstag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/362582712015-03-12T03:25:03Z2015-03-12T03:25:03Zshare adjustments

You will find plenty of discussions in the forums about what
Investment transaction types are required to make Moneydance more
complete in this space.

The only real solution I have found to eliminate partial shares
is to set up the account originally so it can only have whole
shares (by selecting the number of decimal places to 0).

For interest you can use Div and DivXfr transactions the action
really describes how the transaction is handled not necessarily
what it is used for. Use this transaction with an Interest category
to record interest received.

dwg
