Changing name of security

Is it possible to change the name of a security? Or, is it necessary to notionally sell that security and buy it back using its new name on the same day using the same values?

I am not support staff, just a user.
Find the security under TOOLS – SECURITIES and double click on it - EDIT.
Then simply edit the security name. Note the name will change throughout Moneydance.

I’ve been using Moneydance for several years now. I can’t believe I had not noticed this edit feature before. I feel really thick. Nevertheless I'm very grateful for your help
