I have the STOCK GLANCE group of my holdings on the SUMMARY PAGE. After updating the daily changes in stock prices, the COLUMNS "CHANGE" and "DAY" remain at "0" ..

Are they supposed to be updating when I obtain the daily trading updates?

    Hi naughty_pines,

I've not used the Stock Glance extension before but considering today is a weekend day, and there has been no change in prices from yesterday's close, I think that 'no change' is the expected behavior for those columns.

OK ... I'll check next week and see if they're updated as I would expect. Thanks!

    Hi naughty_pines,

I use the Investment Performance report, set to a Date range of 'Last 1 Day'. to keep tabs on daily performance and changes.

OK, FYI ... the DAILY stock ticker "PRICE" Column changes properly. However the "CHANGE" and "DAY" Columns remain "$0.0"

So something doesn't seem to work as expected. A BUG ????

    Hi naughty_pines,

When I just first installed the Stock Glance extension I saw the same results as you did.

I updated price quotes and refreshed the Summary Page. The 'Change' and 'Day' columns now work as expected.

Update the prices and try refreshing the Summary Page. e.g. Move focus to another account / report / then move back to the Summary Page.

Did all that ... no change. The columns both still show "$0.0" and "0%" ...

I have to wonder if the issue is cause by that 1 Investment 401k Fund's inability to download latest Close price ?? That one needs to be Manually Set by the SECURITY PRICE ENTRY extension. It happens to be the 1st security in that Symbol List. OJGY is the Ticker Symbol.

    Hi Tim,

I have to wonder if the issue is cause by that 1 Investment 401k Fund's inability to download latest Close price ??

If you would like to test that theory, you can remove the OJGY security from the Stock Glance extension.

To do so, from the Moneydance menu bar, go to Tools > Securities.
In the resulting window, double-click the OJGY security.
In the next window, click the 'Edit' button in the upper, right-hand corner.
Here, un-tick the checkbox for 'Show on summary page'.
    Click OK.

wanted to give you an update Kevin.. I removed that Security ... It made no difference. The Daily prices all remain "$0.0" ... no day to day changes ..

    Hi Tim,

    Thanks for the update.

Which price quote updater are you using? I'm using the Quote Loader extension v.3021 by Mike Bray.

For me, after running the Quote Loader and saving the updated values, the Stock Glance module reflects the changes as expected.

    Hi Tim,

Mike Bray's Quote Loader extension is now being offered through Moneydance's Manage Extentions GUI as a TIK-signed extension (currently v.3023)

uh .. ok ... I have that version .. Not sure what you're suggesting that I do.. Should I be sending this to MD SUPPORT or something? It's clearly STILL not working as it's supposed to. Thanks

    HI Tim,

If I were you, I would start a new thread so that it attracts the necessary attention from MD support.
Title it something to the effect of 'Stock Glance is not working'.
Provide the particulars of your environment:
    Moneydance version and build number.
    Version of Stock Glance.
    Version of Quote Loader.
    Operating system.

Open the Console Window (Menu bar > Help > Console Window)
Wait for it to finish updating it's output.
Run the Quote Loader extension to update your price quotes.
Again, wait for the Console Window to finish updating it's output.
When it's done, click the 'Save' button at the bottom of the Console Window.
Attach the saved file to your post.

Provide screenshot(s) and / or describe in detail any other relevant information regarding the issue. The more information that you provide in your initial post will help to speed things up.

You may also want to include a link to this thread.

I can not speak any further to the issue as the Stock Glance extension works as expected for me.

    Best of luck.

    Hi Tim,

Would you mind posting a screenshot of the price history for the security in question? I wonder if the stock price updates aren't actually getting into your history, or at least aren't getting in there for the last day or two?

    Thanks,
    Sean

OH, and to be clear, the Daily PRICES do in fact CHANGE ... it's the "CHANGE" and "DAY" Columns that never change from "0" ...

    Hi Tim,

Sorry, I mean the screen in Moneydance (not in the Stock Glance extension) that shows the currency or security price history that you can find by clicking on the security name on the Stock Prices section of the summary screen.

This is the price history data that is actually stored in Moneydance.

    Thanks,
    Sean

No Updates on this ??? DO you need additional INFO ? FYI, I manually Added a Stock price - using the SECURITY PRICE ENTRY extension. That entry gets added to the Daily Price Change for that stock. However, the next day it ends up "0.0" again.
