I am having this same problem. I installed Quote Loader on one mac and it worked great. But I had to move to a Macbook due to traveling and now it loads about 2/3rds and stops. Yesterday it was stopping at the M's, today at the L's. And you cannot check a box to select these since they have no price!
MD Console extract attached.
Thanks - switching to FT helped a lot, but it skipped MSFT and stopped
before trying the last 5 securities.
I'll keep checking on it.
Note: Just tried it again and changed MSFT and a few others back to Yahoo
and it worked!
Quote Loaded is behaving a bit unusual. The Trade date shows 3/17, but the Price date column does not change from 3/13. I wonder if the new prices are being loaded over the 3/13 date. Also it is schedule to run daily at 1900, but the Next run date remains in the past. Why is the Price date not being updated?
You can always leave the Quote Loader window open whilst you look into a security price history window, TOOLS – SECURITIES – Subject security to confirm the data entered is as indicated in the Last Price and Price Date column.
Can you provide some background?
1. Have you been running Auto Update for some time? Or have you just set it up or made some changes to the settings.
2. After making changes to the settings did you remember to click the “Reset Auto Run” Button.
3. When you set up the Next dates were they in the future, not the past, related to the Time of Run setting?
4. Was the Quote Loader window open at the Time of Run?
5. In a situation as shown in the screen shot new prices and Trade Date available, if you select the securities to be saved and then click Save Selected Values are the new values entered.
If you still think there is an Auto Update issue. Under HELP – set Debug to Detailed. Set thing up again, take a screen shoot of your Quote Loader Auto setting, close Moneydance. Just before the Time of Run open Moneydance. Don’t do anything else. Watch the status bar at the bottom of Moneydance to see if data is collected. On completion of the update open Quote Loader and take a screen shot. Close Moneydance and post your comments, screen shots and the errlog.txt file.
Not returning prices, prices zero and red, that you know are supported by Yahoo, I think is a different issue than is the subject of bschottmi post, maybe wrong.
It’s possible in these strange times that the Yahoo’ server is being overwhelmed by requests for prices from many sources and Quote Loader is suffering the consequences. Switch as many of your security, if supported to FT to reduce the load on Yahoo. When using FT you sometimes need to set a Exchange under Exch Mod if the ticker symbol represents different securities on different exchanges. See PDF for more information.
Has anyone had problems updating prices of the indexes with Quote Loader, i.e. DJI, SP500 & Nasdaq on Yahoo. All my stocks update with no problem but not the indexes? This started about a week or two ago.
I have been updating these manually.
Thanks! Now that I am home and not using the secondary Mac, I have changed
so most symbols use FT instead of Yahoo and did the "Reset Auto Run" all
appears to be working OK. I had a few symbols that did not work using FT
so I've changed them back to Yahoo and they are working OK.
