Best practices for recording options trades

I am interested in how others record their options trades in MD. From my experience, there are two ways I have been doing this and I'm not thrilled about either of them.

Option 1: Create a security called "Options Contract". Use this as the security for every option trade and enter the option details in the description field (e.g. SPY200619C320). This is prevents a huge amount of securities being created for all the various different option expirations and strikes, but is very manual to keep track of everything.

Option 2: Create a new security for each different expiration, strike, and type. This works, but results in a huge amount of securities that I have to dig through in every investment account.

Are there any other methods that you have used and are willing to share?
