I'm not entirely sure I follow what you mean, but can you edit this transaction from your investment account? Note that in your investment account, there is now a bank register separate from your investment register, which may be where the other side of this transaction is. This may be different to what you are used to, depending on which version you have upgraded from.

If that doesn't help, could you attach a screenshot of this transaction? This would help us to better understand what you are seeing. If you're not sure how to take a screenshot, please see http://www.take-a-screenshot.org/

I see how to fix it now based on your message. I was under register and I changed to Bank register and was able to fix it.

I have a regular checking account and a UBS investment account. When I look at the register tab in the UBS account it shows a transaction that was downloaded that has an account in the "transfer" column that is from my regular checking account. The fee amount was "not" a transfer from that regular checking account. The fee was a transaction that should have been taken out of the UBS account cash not another account.

Under the "register" tab one can go in and edit the transfer column but it will only allow you to enter another account name and it cannot be a free text field or a category. If you go under the "Bank register" tab you see a column that says category instead of transfer. In the category column, it had the account name of my regular checking account in the category field. I changed that field to "Fees" which is a category I set up for fees. Once I did that and saved and confirmed the edit to the transaction, it deleted the transaction out of my regular checking account and now under the "register" tab it now shows the transaction field for Transfer as "Fees" not the regular checking account name as before.

I am not sure how this is supposed to work but doing it this was I was able to correct the transaction to the way it should be. I can send screen shots if needed bot it looks like I have it fixed and know how to do it in the future.

This might help someone else if they run into this situation.

Thanks Cliff

Clifftag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/484895592020-07-27T22:24:17Z2020-07-27T22:24:17ZInvestment Quarterly fee not coming out of cash balance

I'm a fellow user.

FWIW I frequently used the Investment register to enter transactions where in the transfer field I use a category.

dwg
