How to allocate money in investment account for future expenditures?
Hi all,
I use a cash management account for nearly all of my checking and savings needs. I have this set up in Moneydance as an investment account. A portion of these funds I hold in cash, or cash equivalents, to save for future expenditures, like taxes, insurance premiums, and other periodic expenses.
When I held funds in a Mondeydance bank account, it was easy to create a subaccount to hold these funds until needed, and I could see at a glance what I had allocated to each category from the main account balance.
I understand investment accounts don't have subaccounts (bummer! please add!). Is there any way at all to mimic this functionality? Some way to create a contra account? I'm trying to manage it all on a spreadsheet right now, and it is not going well. I'd really like to see it in Moneydance.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
