This means I can't use History -> Import... -> Import From Transactions to get a proper price for each security. Attached is a portion of my OFX file for 1 security.

BTW: is there a better way of getting prices associated with securities? I have years of monthly data for several hundred securities, and manual processes per security just won't work for me...

orderstag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/491570232021-04-22T16:38:04Z2021-04-22T16:38:04Zimport OFX to initialize account doesn't load price info

I am not support staff, just a user.
Hi orders

Try the extension Quote Loader under EXTENSIONS – MANAGE EXTENSION

Download the PDF attached to posts 150 and have a read.

To get an overview take a look at the YouTube videos by using the links on page 1 and 2 of the PDF.

Let us know how you get on or if you need help just post.

Hope this helps.

derekkent23tag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/491570232021-04-23T14:15:28Z2021-04-23T14:15:29Zimport OFX to initialize account doesn't load price info

I have been able to work around the OFX issue by replacing them with or entries. It gives me the proper balances now - we'll see later if this causes problems when my next statement is available...

The Quote Loader seems to work well enough going forward, but the real value for me is Mike Bray's other utilities, especially the Security History Load which looks to be able to input CSV files with ticker, date and price fields that I can easily generate from my data. [PS: for you Python programmers out there, there is an ofxtools library that works well for parsing OFX/QFX files.]

As far as I'm concerned, this discussion can be closed. (I'm off to do the same battle with QIF files...)

orders
