I haven't used any qif files in these accounts. The totals that are on the summary page are just incorrect! When I open the account file the correct totals are on them, but the summary page just seems to make up it's own totals.
No, I don't have any future dated transactions in my investment accounts
and _no transactions are open_. My sidebar setting is set for current
balance, which is not what is showing.
Just as an example: for one of my accounts the balance is about $55,000
and the sidebar shows about $35,000.
Another account is off about $25,000, etc, etc. One even shows a $0.00
balance - which is also incorrect!
I don't understand what the Current Price would have anything to do with
my totals being incorrect since I'm not holding any securities. I have
no open orders. I just have incorrect balances listed in the _*sidebar*_
for _all of my investment accounts._ If I open the accounts the balances
are correct! - The _*sidebar*_ is not!
So, it's nothing urgent. I just find it annoying!
All of my accounts show correctly in the sidebar _*except*_ for my four
investment accounts. None of the investment accounts show the correct
total of the account *_in the sidebar_*. The total in the sidebar is not
the total that shows when I click open the account.
In Moneydance speak Investment Accounts consist of money invested in Shares, Funds etc, hence Stuart’s question for each security is the Current Price and the last dated price under TOOLS – SECURITIES the same.
It sounds like in Moneydance terms your accounts are not Investment Accounts but are Bank type accounts were the financial institution pay interest.
Hence the confusion.
Can you confirm the type you account you are having problems with?
What I don't understand is that I'm not holding *any* securities, etc,
at this time. I have no open orders in any of the investment accounts,
so why isn't the amount in the sidebar the same amount balance that's in
the actual account? (Or accounts, since none of them have open orders
and all of them have a different actual balance than the balance that
shows in the sidebar!)
My regular bank accounts, etc. are fine. I'm only having problems with
all 4 of my investment accounts. _None_ of them are showing a correct
balance _in the sidebar_. I am not currently holding any securities. In
the actual accounts the balances are correct. It's only the
sidebar/summary page that's incorrect. I have no idea where the sidebar
numbers came from. They're not even close to the actual numbers in the
So it's not a big deal. It's just annoying because it throws off the
total balance of all my accounts.
In the screen shot the Portfolio View of an Investment Account is shown that has a cash balance but no security holdings.
Is this how the Portfolio View of one of your Investment Accounts looks. Portfolio Value 0.00 but with a Cash Balance equal to the Total but with a different value for the account in the Side Bar, as you can see in the screen shot these vales are the same at 500.00
Can you provide a screen shot of one of your Portfolio views?
