Calculating Dividend performance
Hello
Please excuse my annoyance from the other day. I worked it out and completed my update.
Hello
What I am trying to work out now is to develop the dividend performance of my shares. Not the gain in share price but what they return each year as a % of the purchase price or the current price for that matter. I would also like that based on the % of share tax franking. I am nearing retirement and want to know what income I will get from the shares. Based on this I will retain or sell the shares.
I'm sure this is easy but I cannot see it
Regards
Paul

It sounds like what you are looking for is the Dividend Yield:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dividend_yield
Moneydance does not have a report that shows this data unfortunately.

Hello and thank you for your response
If that is so what is the "income" column in the "investment
Performance" Table? It looks like it but when I have run it it does not
report all the returns.

I have not taken much notice of that column before but am seeing the same. It is reporting a few dividends but not many. The IK staff are going to have to explain it.
I do have some concerns about how such data could be reported in Moneydance.
Using the category Dividend is unworkable for me since under local laws I need to have more granularity of reporting than just a single figure can provide and using the Div & DivXfr action types I also see as problematic as especially with the DivXfr this is the only action type that combines two transactions into one and can be used for other purposes.

Thank you again
I'm only doing it for me but even if there was a way of grouping "Div"
or DivXfr it would do

You could use the transaction filter report and select the Dividend category
