If one stock stops updating its price and others continue to do so I would first be checking:

Has the stock changed Ticker symbol, perhaps through a change in name or an acquisition.

Does the quote source you use still provide a price for that stock, if that stock still exists.

Hi doug

In additions to dwg questions what is the full name of the security you have for ROBO?
What was its last price?
What version of Moneydance are you using, e.g. 2022.3(4069)?
What extension are you using to obtain prices and what is its version?
What is your computer operating system?

derekkent23tag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/496849422022-01-24T04:46:17Z2022-01-24T04:46:17ZSecurity not updating

I think I figured out the problem In the Quotes and Exchange Rates Settings extension. Security prices were being derived from something called IEX Trading. When I changed it to Yahoo Finance USA, my security prices updated properly. So I guess DWG got it right. It just wasn't obvious to me where to set it.

dougtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/496849422022-01-24T22:59:36Z2022-01-25T00:04:41ZSecurity not updating

Most people still using the Quotes and Exchange Rates extension (like me) had switched to Alphavantage as the source back in 2017 when Yahoo STOPPED working, in fact we had to request and install an API key, and install a Moneydance update, to get Alphavantage to work, as I recall. So something changed or got fixed so that Yahoo works again in the Quotes and Exchange Rates extension. A post in the below discussion says "Over the last year or so Alphavantage has become more problematic, fortunately for the users of this extension work has been done to make Yahoo work again...". Out of curiosity, anyone know what that "work" was and if it is likely to be permanent, since some of us prefer the simpler Quotes and Exchange Rates extension over the Quote Loader. Thanks.

For many many years there was a well understood methodology to get the rates from Yahoo, many finance programs used it. When Verizon acquired Yahoo they put a stop to that.

Since then some programmers have developed a new method of obtaining the data from the Yahoo provided information. Sean has leveraged this work to update the Q & ER Extension.

So far Verizon have not taken any action to stop this method working, the permanency of the solution is really dependent on Verizon.

dwgtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/496849422022-01-25T15:25:22Z2022-01-25T15:25:22ZSecurity not updating

Good to know.
