Quotes and Exchange plug-in stopped updating
I am using 2021.1 (3069) with the extension Quotes and Exchange Updater on a Win 10 system using Firefox as the default browser.
As of April 25, it has been "unable to get rate from 'stock name' to USD" from Yahoo Finance altho the currency rates are downloaded successfully from European Central Bank. Anything suggestions on what I should do to make this work would be greatly appreciated.
I use the update now option.

No answers but same problem. Same issue with Alphavantage, though I prefer Yahoo.

Q&ER seems to be an extension on life support (espcially because of Alphavantage)
I can only recommend Quote Loader extension, as that works great for me.

Same issue on 4/30/2022. Upgraded to latest Moneydance for Mac. Extension using Yahoo not downloading current stock prices. I confirmed extensions for updating stock prices were current. Alphaadvantage does not work either.

Hey MD Support. For those of us that prefer the simpler Quotes and Exchange Rate extension over the Quote Loader extension, can you please let us know what the sudden problem is with downloading from Yahoo Finance using the Quotes and Exchange Rate extension. I gave up and loaded Quote Loader which is working for me.
I removed Quotes and Exchange Loader as I don't need two.
Hope you figure it out.

I'm a fellow user.
There have been some slight changes on Yahoo that caused the Q & ER extension to fail. Quote Loader did not fail because it takes a different approach.
The Q & ER extension was recently updated and a new version released that resolved this issue.
My personal view is there is a place for both extensions and which one to use depends on the features you want as well as what quote source works for you.
Having options I think is good.
AlphaVantage has been a bit of a problem for a while now. They restrict the query rate so it makes the source somewhat slow and some time series they have made into a premium service and hence charge for them, unfortunately there is no option to select which series to use which may help to aleviate that specific problem.
