I have the same question, will there be a fix for Quote Loader for version 2021.1 (3069)?
I am using QL version 3204 and can get quotes for some Canadian (TSX) tickers using FT. Normal for Yahoo was .TO, but with FT can get some with .TO or :TOR, or :TOR:CAD. Two of the missing ones are US Stocks (CDR) on the .NE (NEO) exchange, the rest missing are ETF's.
If there will be no fix for my version, will the newer fix (3209) work for my missing ones if I upgrade Moneydance?

I dont know if Mike intends to support MD builds before 2022.
If Yahoo supported a security before the Yahoo problem then they are supported and work with the new Quote Loader build. The only new thing is to follow the new instruction in my PDF, namely:
Please don’t repeatedly click GET EXCHANGE RATES or GET PRICES as the Source may lockout.

The issue is the Java version used before 2022. It changed again even more recently, but before 2022 was somewhat of a state change.
So Mike might (or might not) support before 2022, but then he's basically supporting two versions of Quote Loader. So, just as Mac O/S updates break Moneydance and require a discounted upgrade purchase, this might be a reason to upgrade Moneydance to 2024 (which also gets you a free upgrade to 2025).

Even after an upgrade of Moneydance and/or Quote Loader, Quote Loader will remember its last set of settings.

Regarding this line:
We are perfectly fine with signing multiple extensions to maintain compatibility with older versions of Moneydance. In fact, we've built-in to the extension manager a filter that only shows extensions that have been marked as supporting specific version ranges of moneydance.
Please don't ever run unsigned extensions that show an unsigned warning! We cannot ensure that they are free from malware, spyware, or any other kinds of nefarious code or privacy violations.

Sean appreciate the comment, however, we need a better way of getting
extensions signed. It is not that easy. Though you have now signed Quote
Loader I did ask you to sign my other extensions (5th May) which has not
happened. I know you are busy and the informal way we currently use
sometimes gets forgotten.
I am happy to set up a separate repository for older versions of my
extensions and use the min/max build parameters in meta_info.dict;

Build 321402 uses an undocumented call to Yahoo. If Yahoo starts to block this I will have no choice but to drop Yahoo as a source. Please do not abuse this by calling Yahoo more than once a day. Quote Loader only loads 'Close' prices.

A number of other sources have been tested over the years none have proven to be viable.
Yahoo does provide quotes that FT does not have and vise versa so dropping Yahoo would be a problem.

Thanks for the Quote Loader update. A few questions and comments:
1) The caution regarding both Yahoo also applies to Yahoo HD. Correct?
2) When you say 'Quote Loader only loads 'Close' prices', do you mean it loads its stats only after Yahoo has posted 'Close' prices? I still see the Volume stat and others.
3) While having the whole table load almost instantly is terrific, I would accept going back to throttling and waiting many minutes to load 200 securities in order still have Yahoo available

I have a security which I have tagged "Do not load" but for some reason, Quote loader is coming up with some erroneous price ever so often. Lately is inserting a price daily as indicated in the screen shots. I have to change it back to 1 to override the price.
I have check and recheck the setup and it still fails to follow the instructions.
Screen shot 20 is manual "get price" and note is doesn't pull any price.
So what is going on?

It might not be Quote Loader. Can you look at the transaction register
for the investment account to see if there are any transactions with
that security. If it is Quote Loader and you can capture an error log of
when it happens. I see from the dates this is some time ago so it will
be difficult to analyse it.

Hi gsberan
I think Mike was hoping for a Moneydance error.log file or the output from the console window so he could analyse your issue.
Does this happen when you click GET PRICES or have you set up Quote Loader Automatic Running. Provide a screen shot of the Quote Loader Parameter Window.
Also in the parameter window set Console Messages to Detailed, to try and capture what’s happening.
If its Auto run copy the Moneydance error.txt file BEFORE YOU OPEN Moneydance and if it has happened again post the error.log file.
If you are using GET PRICES fist open the Console Window under Moneydance HELP and then click GET PRICES. If it happens click SAVE in the Console window and post the resulting file.
