QL 322004 installed. Slow but it doesn't bother me. As noted, ignore the
version number in the "manage extensions". Uninstall ("update" not
available), re-install. Good to go. I didn't restart MD.

Quote Loader is a third-party extension that has been reviewed and signed by Infinite Kind (Moneydance).

QL322006 behaves the same as 322004 on my machine (win10) and for my
application. "Throttle Yahoo connections" box is checked and greyed out
in parameters.

It will perform the same for yahoo. This has Alpha Vantage throttling options and a faster “save prices” ability.

I really like having the ability to retrieve a single security. Works
well and allowed me to switch quickly from Yahoo to FT for a security
that was giving me trouble.

QL does not support mutual funds, data from Market Data, although Market Data appears to have an API. Is that only a temporary limitation?
The % chg and Amt Chg columns are blank. Since the data are present for computing those fields, will they be added?

1-Mutual funds had not been programmed in yet. With the support change (Formerly Mike Bray, now Stuart Beesley) I have no idea if that will change.
As for 2 - I get % chg and Amt Chg values when I update a stock price with Market Data.
Note: on the free trial, stock quotes are one day delay - maybe you are getting prices you already had thus there is no change?

The issue with no change info is an artifact of the way I tested. I used Yahoo and saved the result, so when I ran Market Data, the data matched. Note that for the 30-day trial, Market Data should provide the full suite of results.
I'll confirm this on Monday by running Market Data first. It should show data in the change columns. I'll then run Yahoo and save the results. I'll download the CSV file from QL for both runs and spot-check quotes.

The free plan is free forever and fully featured, it's just rate limited.
They have a bug - mutual funds are simply broken.. It's nothing to do with QL.

I signed up with Market Data. Nice to have options and thank you folks for the continued development and support.
The signup gives you free 30 days of the paid Starter tier so I can't test the limits of the free tier. It says 100 API credits (per month presumably) and that multiple quotes per API call are possible. Stuart, is that the way you have built it? If we only need 1 credit (typically) per day, 100 would be more than enough, and an improvement over Alpha.
Update: on my dashboard after running it once it says: API Usage "Requests: 10/10000" That was after I set everything to Market Data. Mutual fund, treasuries, and something else failed and 10 worked. So if I'm interpreting this correctly, even my modest number of quotes needed per day will not work with the 100 free limit.
Update to the update: API credits: 10,000 / day. So we're back on.
One more: Each time I run it the dialogue says 11 prices loaded, 10 errors (both true). On the dashboard the number of requests used goes up by 10, interesting. And BND is failing. Other ETFs are good.

If you look at my main PDF page 15 from post 220 it outlines the Market data Free Forever limitations as I understand them. One of the links included talks about the 30 day free trial after which if you don’t subscribe you move onto the Free Forever plan.
Some of the limits of the Free Forever plan are a maximum of 100 quotes a day with at least a 24 hour delay on data. I don’t think the 24 hour delay applies to the 30 day trial period. The link provides fuller information.

Thanks Derek. I've now read the manual.
24 hour delay for the free (and trial) plans is pretty much a non-starter. (You have to go to the Free Accounts and below pages, not the Plan Limits page to see the unfortunate details.) But it's still good to have options.
Pretty much good for testing only, IMO. "24-Hour Delayed Data: Access to data that is delayed by at least 24 hours."

I just ran MarketData during the free trial period for the Starter Plan. The results had the closing prices for the same day (no 24-hour delay). It matched the data from Yahoo.
Notes for future upgrades (i.e., non-critical issues--not deserving an upgrade on their own):
A cosmetic note for Market Data: the dates in the Date Changed column are followed by '++'
Note about CSV downloads: If a security's name contains a ',' the data columns are offset by one column when opening the CSV file in a spreadsheet. Perhaps the Name field data should be enclosed in quotes.

I also got closing prices, albeit 7 hours after the market close. I'll be happy if their rules might be squishy. Perhaps small once-per-day queries fall under the radar.
One reason I'm interested is that unlike Alpha, $12/mo is not unreasonable if the free services fail (and everything works at Market Data, which it's not currently). At the moment, Alpha works well for me.
BND still fails, while VTI, VB and all my other ETFs work. ChatGPT suggested a few Alt Tickers for Quote Loader (BND:US, BND:NASDAQ, BND:XNAS). Didn't work.
Terrible name, Market Data. Tough searching.

I think it is "up to 24 hours" for the delay - of course, if you pay the $12/month it is real time. As for alt tickers, Derek is smarter than ChatGPT.... ;)
And yes "Market Data" as a name? Really?
And as for the Mutual Fund breakage - I would HOPE that all the paying folks would be screaming bloody murder...

They have a system issue and mutual funds are not working.
I don’t think there is a delay as such, but they only provide the closing date/prices.
For mutuals you should be able to access VFINX with no token, but if you try

You can see it errors with no data.
