Once a year I send my Moneydance file to my accountant and when he sends it back to me, it comes as a ".moneydancearchive" file. The problem I have is when I do more data entry into that file. After I close and then reopen the application, the data I entered is lost and it reverts to the copy of the file that my accountant sent back to me.

I imagine that he shouldn't be sending me an archive file, but he has and I want a file I can add to, save, and have my additions there. I do not see a "save as" option. Help.

Does your accountant add more transaction or otherwise modify the data?

Moneyancearchive files are backup files, you restore them using the restore from backup option on the Moneydance file menu they DO NOT overwrite your existing data file they create a new file. Depending on what your accountant has done, if anything, will probably determine what file you want to use moving forward and hence the process to follow.

Backups are discussed n the Knowledge Base article:
