Price Entry
I am new to using MD as of 4/1. I have about 60 Brokerage CD's and TBILLS. The ID/SYMBOL for these are brokerage specific items and can not be found in any of the automated price updates like Yahoo. I can export the CURRENT PRICE for these items into a CSV file, but I have not figured out how to load these items into the Price History from a file.
Under extensions, there is "Security Price Entry". It lists all the brokerage specific items as Securities. I can manually enter a new price, one at a time, for all 60 items. Is there any way to populate this list of all the securities from a file? I have 60 securities in a sequence with this extension. I have 60 prices in sequence in a CSV file. I need a way to populate this "Security Price Entry" table other than manually. I know that MD+ for $40/year (today) would allow me to download this info directly, but I prefer not to go that route.
Thanks for suggestions.

I suggest you look at Mike Bray's security price load extension. Many of us use this and Mike's other Moneydance extensions.

Thanks. It appears to be exactly what I need, but it is not working totally. It will load about 35 of my 60 prices, but it puts in a zero for the rest of the price updates. I have read all the online information to make sure I was using the correct format and I tried a 3 column file with just Ticker, Price, and Date so I tested both the History loader and the Price loader with the same results. Even though all my securities are present and displayed under MD, it is if the securities database has some corruption in it. It is always the same Tickers.
I turned on detail debug in the extension, but don't know where to look for the results.
Also, since this is not a MD extension, how do I get help to debug the issue?
I am new to MD so I am not familiar with procedure to get help.

SOLVED. I found the errlog.txt under my USER directory. Several of the reading entries looked strange. The prices that did not load had a space at the end of the Ticker symbol that I could not see when I was checking on the Securities individually. I took out the extra space at the end and all of the prices loaded.
Thanks for pointing me to this extension. This makes the switch from Quicken a lot less painful.

Mike Bray and DerekKent23 have presences in this forum, so just dropping a question here on Mike's extensions will usually elicit a response.

I am not support staff, just a user.
Hi mvkguard+383
Yes a space in a ticker can be a killer.
Glad you fixed the issue.
