FT Quotes and new issues
Like many, I've been resetting Quote Loader to pull quotes from FT.
I have it all running, but now I have two side effects.
1) My Portfolio Report gets stuck on "Generating...." and will not complete
2) In my largest Investment account, all of the Cost Basis fields are blank (Cost Basis, Cost/Share, % Change all show "---"). Interestingly, if I click into an individual security those cost basis values are all there - so it seems to be something to do with the Portfolio View summary in the account.
Anyone have any thoughts?

I am not support staff, just a user.
Hi BrianS
I use Quote Loader with the Source FT.
I am on Windows 11 MD 2024(5117)
My Portfolio Report generates without any issues and my Investment Account Portfolio View is OK.
I would suggest closing Moneydance and then reopen, create these two issues close MD and post the MD error.log.
Support or other may see the problem in the log.
Hope this helps.

Is there anything sensitive in the error logs? This discussion is currently public.

Hi BrianS
Not really, but to be certain open the error.log in a text editor and take a look. edit out anything you don’t want to share, save and post.

Updated to 5118 - same experience. Portfolio view in my large account, Portfolio Report and Net Worth report are all broken.
Portfolio View in my account shows no cost basis info.
Portfolio Report and Net Worth report never get past "Generating..."

By any chance do you hold Apple stocks in that account?

Yes

I found another recent thread where you were debugging some Apple transaction issues. Interestingly, my Security Details tab for Apple seems fine.
I don't know if it's related at all, but FWIW when I open Toolbox I get two pages of "potential duplicate security" warnings.

The bug relates to buys/sells crossing a split where the backwards split calculation causes a small rounding, causing the code to loop.. On the Apple issues, the split is 7.. The old MD code didn't loop as it was simply wrong.. The new MD code is much better, but it needs to trap this rounding issue...

Is there a workaround, or just wait for a fix?

I think it will be wait for a fix.

can confirm, same issue here - also awaiting a fix.

FYI - there is now an Alpha available (that fixes this endless loop issue with Apple / split stocks). WARNING. This is an Alpha - so pre-preview… BACKUP first and only use on test data.. If you don't want to test, then wait for the stable code version.....
…
Let me know if a) the ‘hang’ has gone, and b) the results..

This is great, thank you! I'll spend more time with it later tonight but at first blush it looks like it resolves all the issues with Portfolio Report and Portfolio Review in that account.
My experience is that you can see it processing: the security list table loads, but the Cost Basis fields show --- for a moment and then the data loads in.
