Merging securities

Effective from 3 May, Invesco merged their Y share class into their Z share class. I know the unit conversion rate for each security but how can I update Moneydance without deleting the history of the investments pre-conversion? Should I do a stock split and then manually update the security name and ticker symbol etc? Or is there a better way? Many thanks.

    Hi Alan,
Thank you for contacting Moneydance support.

Are the investment transactions you wish to merge within the same account?
If so, you could proceed as follow:

    • Navigate to Extensions->Manage Extensions and install the Toolbox. Launch it and select 'Update mode'

In the MENU: Currency & Security tools tab, choose:
FIX: Detect and merge Security within same Investment Account

Select->proceed and follow the on-screen instruction.

Finally, restart Moneydance for the changes to be implemented.

I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions or need more assistance.

    Hi Maddy

Thank you for your response. I have done what you suggested but no duplicate securities were identified.

This is because, currently, each security is described slightly differently (i.e. denoted by Y Acc or Z Acc) and, of course, they have different ISINs/ticker IDs. What I need to do is merge the Y Acc securities into the Z Acc securities so that I don’t lose the history associated with the original securities.

    Any suggestions?

    Many thanks.
