Is there a way to hide your investments so they do not show up in your daily net worth?

It depends which widget / view you mean?

For the reports, you can deselect the accounts.

If you mean the home / summary page NW widget then there is a secret setting you can flip to exclude certain accounts. Use toolbox extension. Update mode. Account’s menu. Should be included in NW tool.

FYI - I understand that there is work in progress to make this easier, but 🤷

    Hi Richard,
Thank you for contacting Moneydance support.

The default in Moneydance is that all active accounts are included in net worth and all inactive accounts are excluded.

If you wish to hide your investment accounts, you should navigate to Extensions->Manage Extensions and install the Toolbox.

    Select: Update Mode

Click on MENU:Accounts & Categories Tools
In the resulting window: Choose: FIX:Edit an Account's shoudlBEIncludedInNetWorth()setting

Follow the onscreen instruction. Finally, restart Moneydance!

I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions or need more assistance.

The latest alpha (soon preview) build 5210 has this ability now. Tools. Accounts. Edit. Untick the NW flag

    Hi Richard,
Thank you for contacting Moneydance support.

If you haven't already, you may want to install the latest update.

Moneydance 2024.3 (5213) is available to download from this page.

For a full list of improvements in the preview version, please refer to this page.

We recommend overwriting or manually removing the older version.

Please keep us posted on your progress, Thank you!
