I have followed the previous suggestions to no avail:
I add a new security, label it by name (e.g. American Balanced Fund), put in the stock symbol (ABALX), etc., and save it.
The new security shows up in the Securities list.
I add the new security to the appropriate Account.
I try to buy shares of the new security in the appropriate Account, it shows the stock symbol but the security name defaults to the name of an earlier entry.
I have spent over 4 hours today trying to get this to work. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • How are you doing this: "I add the new security to the appropriate Account."?
    • How are you doing this: "I try to buy shares of the new security in the appropriate Account,"?

See this video I made to show you..:

If it still doesn't work after that, launch toolbox and see if it pops up any warnings?

    Let me know?

I tried one.  It took a while, but it seemed to work.  Thanks.
