Moving shares in/out/between accounts
I know this has been asked since at least 2015 (examples below).
But PLEASE could you make it possible to move investment shares into an account without "buying" them? Same for moving them out of an account without "selling" them"? And, most of all, between accounts without having to "buy and sell" them? PLEASE!
Examples in of other people requesting how to do this:
https://infinitekind.tenderapp.com/discussions/investments/576-moving-shares-between-accounts
https://infinitekind.tenderapp.com/discussions/investments/1230-moving-shares-in-kind
The second example has a reply from Infinite Kind support: "There's an existing ticket in our ticketing system with this suggestion of adding the ability to move securities, so I've attached it to this discussion and the developers will be looking into it. Any updates to this ticket will be posted to this thread."

The problem had always been that the value of the shares has to be moved as well, not just the shares themselves, since Moneydance has an accounting base.
To move today you either have to do the sell/buy at cost price route or use Toolbox to move the actual investment transactions.
To be able to "move" the shares I think would require re-architecting the software so that perhaps the transactions are kept in the share subaccount rather than in the Investment account, so that the shares subaccount can be moved in its entirety,

Yes, that's a problem.
But just because there isn't a perfect solution doesn't mean there can't be a good or at least adequate solution? At least a workaround better than the buying/selling method?
It's been ten years and they still haven't been able to address it?

Solutions in the Investment space in Moneydance appear to be the poor relation.
I have been advocating for quite a long time for improvements.
