Investment Management Suggestion

I'm back with another suggestion for future updates.

It would be most helpful to be able to enter multiple categories when adding a dividend payment. An example: I have one stock that pays a monthly dividend which (for reporting/tax purposes) needs to be separated into 4 categories, sometimes five; Ordinary Income, Qualified Income, Capital Gain (Short and Long) and Return of Capital. I have to create 4 and occasionally 5, entries for that one monthly payment. How efficient it would be to be able to do that in one transaction.

How's the Date Change request coming along? Or is it? :)

I have more ideas, but one at a time.

Thanks...

    HI Stuart,

Did you intend to link to the old messages? This is a separate issue from duplicating dates. Thx..

(Hi. Given this forum contains lots of posts, saying “Date Change request” means nothing and it was unclear if that somehow referred to this. So I put a link to that post here so that anyone looking could work that out for themselves.)

That would be a great addition. Having to split a single dividend into multiple entries manually is definitely a hassle. Being able to assign multiple categories within one transaction would save a lot of time, especially for those dealing with frequent payments.

    Thanks.

It would be helpful if Infinite Kind polled its users to find out what
our priorities are regarding Moneydance, and if those priorities are
aligned with the development team. I know that investments management is
an essential component for me, and Infinite Kind do a good job in that
area, but I also realise that I may be a distinct minority.

    Thanks, Maddy.

I think folks would need to know this is the logic. I didn’t until now.
