Capital gain reporting on selling and buying call options.
I have been selling calls and waiting for them to expire to receive gains.
I have been entering the sale as the sale of a new security. In one example I sold call options on 1,000 shares of a stock for $18.71. When the option expired a few days later, I recoreded it as a purchase of the new security at $0.00. This obviously results in a gain of $18.71. However, the Capital Gain Report shows a capital loss of $53 million +. Can you help me?

1. I amusing average cost (basis). However, I tried lot control and got the same result. The purchase and same occur in the same time frame, so lots are not mixed.
2. Version 2024.4(5253)
3. I have 2 Securities involved in these trades: VZCALLS and PFECALLS. When I rerun the capital gains report the VZCALLS do not even show up. The report is for the period from 1/1/2025 to 7/31/2025. In June and July there are several trades involving both securities.
4. In the transaction register I have highlighted two complete trades. The VZCAllS trade does not show on the report (I don’t know why) and a PFECALLS trade. Both show the unusual basis determination. I have done these trades in two accounts and the result is the same in both

As you can see the PFECALLS transaction is on the report while the VZCALLS trade is not. All of the PFECALLS trades have the same problem.
