Bond question
First, when I imported recent transactions (bond purchases) into my Schwab account, MD showed them briefly then they all disappeared. All had alpha/numeric symbols (19648FXT6) and I selected NONE OF THE ABOVE during the import, hopefully getting new securities. But they do not show in the Security list or in the account. What did I do wrong?
Second, how do you EDIT a security to change it from STOCK to BOND. I mistakenly accepted MD default and then went back to edit it, but I don't see a way to modify the type.

I solved the second problem. In the Investment Account, I selected SECURITIES DETAIL and then the security in the pop-up box. Now it can be edited (it cannot be edited from the TOOLS>SECURITIES window.

Hi monty,
For the Bonds not showing in the Securities Detail drop-down list, try this...
From the menu bar, go to Tools > Accounts
If the Bonds in question are listed there, double click and check to see if they are marked as 'Inactive'.

They do show up in the list, just not the REGISTER. I manually entered them just now so I've got the portfolio finished. But no idea why MD just automatically removes them after import.

So no idea on why MD imports the investment transaction (bond purchase) and then before you can confirm the entries, MD suddenly removes the items?

No you cannot set the security type under Tools => Securities.
This is deliberate.
The best I can do to explain is give an example. Consider stocks. Depending on the type of account it is in you may define it in the account as stock. But if you have an account with just stocks you may want to start having custom definitions of the type of stock.
I typically, with Funds, have them defined as the type of fund they are, so for me effectively, Pension fund, Superannuation Fund, Investment Fund. They then appear in different sections of an asset report.

I understand the answer and found the way to edit the information.
But I don’t understand why MD automatically and almost immediately removes the imported transactions.

I have never seen Moneydance remove transactions from an account. I am at a loss at how it could happen.
