Support for quote extensions / search failing
These are two different questions, but since the Search function is "temporarily not available" it's difficult to see if there is current discussion of either.

IK: What's the status of the Search failure? It's been saying "Search functionality is temporarily unavailable. We are working to correct the problem" for several days that I know of.

Others: What's the support status of Quote Loader and Quotes and Exchange Rates extensions? In recent discussions, when someone is having trouble with QER, I see recommendations to use QL instead. But in May 2025 the person supporting QL said they were stopping support. Did someone else pick it up?
Is QL considered to be generally more reliable than QER? I understand the limitations of Yahoo and Alphavantage. Using QER, Yahoo has been very flaky for me. Since I have fewer than 25 securities that are listed, I am currently using AV, and it works. But... it is not running automatically daily, I have to run it manually.

Point 2 -
Q&ER is supported by IK - it’s their own product/extension.
QL - the author Mike Bray stopped support. Subsequent to this I migrated his code to the MD open source repository and updated a few issues myself. As such it’s not officially ‘supported’ but developers like myself and in fact IK can make fixes.

For QL the same group that has always tested it continue to test any changes made.
For Q&ER some of the same people will test it if we are made aware of any new version that has been released, or have been asked to test it by TiK.
Within this group of testers we all use QL for our own data, it has more capability and by providing Yahoo and FT as sources it offers better support Worldwide, and quite a few of us are not U.S. based.

I am one of the Quote Loader testers and worked with Mike and now Stuart.
dwg mentioned 2 of the Quote Loader sources Yahoo and FT. It also supports sources Alpha Vantage and Market Data.
The latest Released Build of Quote Loader is v330104. See post 212 at https://infinitekind.tenderapp.com/discussions/investments/7595-quo...
If you haven’t already take a look at the attached PDF’s.
There has not been much need recently to update Quote Loader, as it is doing its job, but a signed preview build v330107 by Stuart can found listed at https://infinitekind.com/app/md/extensions/preview/
If you are interested I can post its bug fix list and an updated PDF.
I currently use v330107 on my real Data.

Thanks for the info. Since y'all seem to be supporting it unofficially, I've switched back from Q&ER to QL. I used to use QL... don't remember why I switched to Q&ER months ago. I've found that FT works for most of my tickers, Yahoo HD for a few more, and had to choose Alphavantage for one. In the past I had to mess around with the Exch Mod field to get results for some securities, but now it seems to be working without having to pick an exchange. And it ran automatically today, which Q&ER was failing to do.

Quote Loader may be running daily, but it is not succeeding in updating my prices. Price Date is 11/18 and 11/19 on many securities although the Parameters screen says Next Run is 11/20 and today is 11/21. I'm attaching a Console file that has been redacted of personal info, and has had unrelated entries deleted (bank downloads, mobile syncing). I see a few lines that talk about it being a manual run, but I did not manually run it - I just opened the extension.
I also see some entries about the next run time being 21:00, but I have it set to 17:00 (I'm in U.S. Central time zone). I'm also attaching a screen shot of the Parameters (no personal info included). I have Exchange Rates set to manual only, but Securities should be auto. Although the Console shows a run 11/21, the Parameters screen shows the Last Run as 11/19.
Any help interpreting this log data would be appreciated.

As I mentioned there is a Signed Preview build of Quote Loader build 330107 listed at

This build could help your issue.
Simple download securityquoteload.mxt and drag and drop this into the Moneydance Side Bar to install. Close and open Moneydance and then open Quote Loader and check the Parameters setting.
The UPDATE NOTE: for this are:
• Fixed issues that prevented scheduled Auto Run on following days when Moneydance session left running past midnight, or for more than one day. • If Security name includes a comma Created Price CSV file now correctly formatted. • A GET Alt Ticker retrieved/failed message now includes Ticker as well as Alt Ticker in brackets. • Fire a notification to MD to tell it prices had been updated after a price run. • Update PDF Quote Loader V2 Extension Moneydance 2024 to V12.6
Could I ask you to install this build and see if it fixes your Auto Run issue.

I've installed that build. When I restarted MD, QL completed an auto run. I'll watch it over the next few days to see if it runs consistently and will report results here.
