Tip: Stock Quote Synchronizer can trigger iPhone syncing
I'm using a Mac, hopefully this works for others too:
1) You have to have the Stock Quote Synchronizer extension installed.
2) If MD desktop and MD iPhone are both open, quit MD iPhone.
3) Choose the Stock Quote Synchronizer from the Extensions menu to get it started checking stocks.
4) While the Synchronizer is searching stocks, re-open MD iPhone.
5) MD Desktop will detect MD iPhone while the Synchronizer is running, and presto--sync happens.
Works for me every time.
It's still a hassle and a kluge, but less so because I don't have to quit and re-start on the desktop.

Can't find the Stock Quote Synchronizer. My Extensions only show Stock/ Forex Quotes Auto Synchronizer, which is used to fix the settings and Quote And Exchange Rates Settings, which update the rates but not the quotes with Yahoo! Finance UK or USA. In both instances my stock are "skipped"!
So where is the Stock Quote Synchronizer that does the job?

All I can tell you is what's in my info window:

It looks like if you go to "Add..." under the Extensions menu, and select "Yahoo Stock Quotes", it comes up with the same title, though.

Interesting. I'm not sure why the stock quote extension (or any extension, for that matter) would make syncing work better. I've mentioned this our developers. It would be great if others could confirm whether or not this works for them.

Update (not sure this matters):
Change "works every time" to "works most of the time".
