Using Moneydance on 2 workstations. Issue is that the data folder has saved to a local account rather than dropbox. Need helping migrating to dropbox and accessing the data on 2 workstations

    Hello,

Can you clarify which version of Moneydance you are using? If you are using Moneydance 2017 or later, you can follow these instructions to set up syncing between two or more systems via Dropbox: http://help.infinitekind.com/kb/syncing-and-sharing-data/syncing-wi...

    Hi Ethan

Using Moneydance 2017. I need to know where in moneydance you can change the pathway to point to a database in dropbox?

I am not support staff, just a user.

If you are running 2017 or for that matter 2019 you should not attempt to locate your data set on an external drive or in cloud storage such as Dropbox. If you do you are running the risk of corrupting your data set. Moneydance save/read small transaction files every 20 seconds or so which external storage does not handle well. Locate your data set on your hard drive, the default location can be found under HELP – SHOW DOCUMENT FOLDER. This should open a file finder explorer at the default location. Your can save Moneydance Automatic (FILE – PREFERENCES – BACKUPS) and manual backups (EXPORT BACKUP) to Dropbox

If you want to share data sync between computer see http://help.infinitekind.com/kb/syncing-and-sharing-data

    Hope this helps
