Syncing requires a shared location that can be used by all systems participating in the process. The mobile app as it does not have access to shared directories makes use of the Dropbox API to pass data, thus making Dropbox a mandatory requirement at this time.

Historically Moneydance has always used Dropbox, it appears to be the most reliable service to use with the software, some other service have proven to be problematic, and it also supports all Operating Systems that Moneydance is supported on.

dwg
