Any plans to include iCloud sync instead of Dropbox? With the recent changes to Dropbox I am moving most of my files to iCloud. It also seems more secure.

I am not support staff, just a user.

If you are taking about the 3-device limit on the free account it may not as bad as it first sound.

The limit of 3 devices running Dropbox applications with a free account applies to the devices that can be connected to a Dropbox product itself, via official Dropbox applications, such as the official Dropbox desktop client or mobile applications.

If your computers are using Dropbox Folder as a syncing method for Moneydance then as you have to have Dropbox Client installed, this count towards the limit. However, if you use Dropbox Connection and don’t have Dropbox Client installed, this does not count towards the limit. This limit does not apply to third party apps that connect to Dropbox via the Dropbox API. This includes the Dropbox Application Program Interface that is embedded in Moneydance mobile. Your mobile devices would only count towards the limit if you had Dropbox official app installed on your mobile devices for another reason.

My set up uses the Dropbox Free account, has four computers, three using Dropbox Folder, one using Dropbox connection and two phones.

For a cloud service to be viable alternative it would need to support Mac, Windows, Linux, Android and iOS and have an API similar to Dropbox to support mobile devices. iCloud does not and is too restrictive to non-Apple users.

    Hope this helps.

The above information is correct in explaining our reasoning for using Dropbox. An iCloud option would be ok for those with only Apple devices, but many of our users have computers with multiple operating systems, have a smartphone other than an iPhone, etc.

Just to add a bit on the "secure" issue, our syncing system, both between desktop systems and mobile devices, is encrypted. Even if any of these syncing services are somehow compromised, no one would be able to access your synced financial data, unless they also had your syncing password.

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance,
