Syncing Moneydance with iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, and Android Devices →
20 Feb, 2020 03:23 PM
My V3 folder on DropBox now contains nearly 1500 files. When I open the Android app the initial sync takes well over a minute - presumably because of the number of files. Is there a way to consolidate the data in the sync files?

Yes there is a way to consolidate the files in the V3 folder.
First make sure all your syncing devices are in sync. Make a backup of your DataSet on your primary computer.
Shut down MoneyDance on all your devices.
Go to Dropbox either on line or locally & Delete the folder .moneydancesync
Now start MoneyDance on your primary computer. This instance of Moneydance will rebuild your
.moneydancesync folder on Dropbox. It may take a few minutes to do this, but usually less than 3 minutes.
If you now go back into Dropbox you will see that your V3 folder now just contains a handful of files. Further, your main dataset will have shrunk as well.
It might sound scary, but I’ve already done it once today myself!
